Weekly photo challenge – On the way

.

On The Way is a unique time of transition because no matter how many times we travel a particular path there will also be something different.

Yet, it is usually the first journey we remember with the greatest of emotion.  Perhaps it is because our attention is stimulated; so much is new.

Then, once the path becomes well worn, we are easily distracted, our thoughts wander, and we miss the subtle changes that have occurred … are occurring … around us.

For this week’s Daily Post weekly photo challenge, the theme is On The Way. for which we are asked to share

“a photo not of your destination, but of an interesting thing along the way. Show us something stunning others might have missed, or find some unexpected beauty in a mundane moment. Maybe we can all start looking at the in-betweens a bit differently!”

.

A few years back, I selected some photos to represent a particular drive to the coast.  Very little of the destination made it into the presentation … and the details of the journey proved more interesting than the board vistas.

From where I live, a day trip to the coast means spending more time in the mountains that on the sand!

    Great photos. 🙂
I don’t remember playing the games in car. 😉 What is the “I spy with my little eye …” game?

It is one of the games parents used to keep the children from fighting with each other during long drives. “I spy with my little eye something beginning with …” a letter of the alphabet. It had to be something that could be seen by everyone in the car. The person who guessed correctly then took the lead with “I spy with my little eye something beginning with …”
