Weekly photo challenge – Abandoned

This week’s photo challenge at WordPress’ Daily Post arrived just as I was heading out on a road trip up the highway.  So, I kept an eye open for possible subject matter.  Something is usually Abandoned somewhere by the side of the road.

I’d decided to pull over for a break at Robertson, check the map for the next turn off … and noticed this former antique and gift shop.

But it had been raining for the entire trip, and there were miles yet to go.  The idea of getting wet and cold this early in the day was not an option.

So I took the photo through the rain drenched windscreen of my car.

It adds something to the sense of abandonment, but I’m not sure what?
