Last holiday season, it looked like some dramatic work was intended for the bridge at Gooloogong.  So I pulled the car to the side of the road and snapped a few photos in preparation.  In June this year, I took a few more of the work underway and posted some comments on the  history of Holman Bridge.  I wondered what I’d find here this holiday season.

Turns out, not as much progress as I expected but progress all the same.

The cranes grabbed my attention this time, with their striking paintwork contrasting vividly with the rough industrial worksite set amid the drying rural landscape.

The suite of comparison shots is growing.

However, I’m still missing a resolution to the question I posted in June: “I wonder what image this spot will produce in December 2013?”

I expected the new bridge would be complete, but a “Keep Out” sign is a “Keep Out” sign.  A photo journalist I’m not (yet!).

Instead, for 2013, to end this post, how about a wide view of Holman Bridge from a higher angle on the road into Gooloogong …
